Luann R. (Garrett) Gebhart, 70, passed Sunday, January 19, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of Stephen M. Gebhart, her husband of 48 years.
Luann was born August 1, 1954, in Hanover, the daughter of the late Mary E. (Kuhn) Butt and stepdaughter of the late Earl Butt.
Luann was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica in Hanover, and Hope and Healing Support Group at Olive Branch Ministries. She owned Luann's Country Clippers and worked as a hairdresser and receptionist at The Brethren Home Community. Luann enjoyed knitting and was part of a socially active knitting group. She was a lover of books and puzzles and enjoyed dancing with her husband, children and grandchildren. One of her favorite summertime hobbies was gardening and growing her beautiful dahlias. Luann loved to cook and enjoyed researching new recipes.
In addition to her husband Steve, Luann is survived by son, Beau D. Gebhart and his wife Crystal of New Oxford, a daughter, Bethann M. Myers and her husband Daniel of Dauphin, four grandchildren, Bayne Gebhart, Caysen Gebhart, Saoirse Myers and Caoimhe Myers, and a brother, Nicholas Garrett of East Berlin. She was predeceased by a grandson, Cayd Gebhart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11 AM, at Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Dr, Hanover with Rev. Dwight Schlaline officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday, from 6-8 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with the Rosary at 8 PM.
