Lester E. Garver, Jr, 90, passed Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in New Oxford, PA.  He was the husband of Helen L. (Dietrich) Pragel Garver, his wife of 6 years.

Lester was born October 18, 1931, in Flora, IL, the son of the late Lester E. and Hilda (Tener) Garver.

Lester earned a Bachelor of Education degree from McKendree College in Lebanon, IL, and a Master of Education from George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Lester was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Woodlawn, MD, and Hebron Lodge. He was always curious and had many interests, including woodworking, carving, and stamp collecting.

In addition to his wife Helen, Lester is survived by two daughters, Lisa Mayfield and Donna Orme, both of Eldersburg, MD, four stepchildren, five grandchildren, and a brother, Norman Garver of Las Vegas, NV. He was predeceased by a son, Kim Garver and his first wife of 59 years, Virginia (Hockman) Garver.

A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2022, at 11AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 5610 Dogwood Rd, Woodlawn, MD, 21207.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Lester's memory to St. Mary's Church, Woodlawn or the Cross Keys Village Brethren Home Foundation.
