Lawrence (Larry) Johnson, 86, of New Oxford, Pa. formally of Hemlock Farms in Lord's Valley, PA passed away peacefully on January 18, 2023.

Larry was born in Hackettstown, NJ on February 17, 1936 to Bertha and C. Albert Johnson.  He attended Rutgers University and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.  Larry earned his Bachelor's and Master's degree in business administration.

He was a member of the United States Army and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Ordinance Corp in Fort Bragg, N.C.

Larry was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Simplicity Patterns where he met his wife of 30 years, Candace Hartman-Johnson.

Together they enjoyed freshwater fishing in the ponds of Hemlock Farms, listening to 50's music, kayaking, bocce ball, skeet shooting and spending time with friends and family.

Even though Larry struggled with dementia in his later years, he always maintained a happy go lucky demeanor.  When asked about his favorite vacation spot he replied, "my whole life has been a vacation."

He is survived by his wife, Candace Hartman-Johnson and his two daughters, Robin Johnson Connington of Suffern, NY  and Lori Johnson Bishop (Jim) of Ellicott City, MD, his brother, Gerald Johnson (Carol) of Florida,  and grandchildren, Dan Connington, Lindsey Bishop Hassan (Ryan), Allison Bishop and Sydney Bishop.  He is predeceased by his parents and son, Scott Bryant Johnson.
