Kenneth W. Deatrick, 77, of New Oxford, entered into God's eternal care on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Miller) Deatrick, his wife of more than 50 years.
Ken was born October 27, 1938, in New Chester, the son of the late George M. and Annie G. (Dellinger) Deatrick.
Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, going to the mountains, and his 1957 Chevy. He was employed as a Mechanic at Staub Chevrolet and later a Master Mechanic at TimBar for many years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, New Oxford, and a former member of St. Paul's "The Pines" Lutheran Church, New Chester. He was a member of The Gettysburg Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, North America Hunting Club, and a life member of United Hook & Ladder #33, McSherrystown Fish & Game, and New Oxford Social & Athletic Club.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, Ken is survived by his mother-in-law, Lillian Shrader Miller; a daughter, Sandra Bladen; a son, Kenneth Jr.; three grandsons, Warren, Nathaniel and Davis Bladen, all of New Oxford, a granddaughter, Holly Deatrick of Charlottesville, Va.; a brother, Charles Deatrick, Gettysburg; 2 brothers-in-law, Ray Brenneman and Fred Kline; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Philip Deatrick; and two sisters, Alice Kline and Margie Brenneman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, with Rev. Michael Letteer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with prayers at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church; or to United Hook & Ladder #33, 21 N.
