Obituary

Kathryn E. (Bream) Weikert, 97, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at The Brethren Home Community.  She was the wife of the late Henry A. Weikert, who died April 22, 2007.

Kathryn was born January 27, 1921, in Adams Co., the daughter of the late Harry S. and Kathryn M. (Taughinbaugh) Bream.

Kathryn was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. in New Oxford, NARFE #1797, and the Littlestown V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a 1938 graduate of Gettysburg High School, a 1940 graduate of Thompson Business School, and retired from Areo Oil.  She worked for Meals on Wheels for 20 years, and at the New Oxford Food Pantry.

Kathryn is survived by her children, William H. Weikert and his wife Dyann of Williamsville, NY, James H. Weikert and his wife Brenda of Harrisburg, Thomas H. Weikert and his wife Sandy of Clinton, NC, and Michael H. Weikert and his wife Patti of Leesburg, VA, eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a step great grandchild.  She was predeceased by a son, Dennis H. Weikert, a daughter, Jane E. Higinbotham, a granddaughter, Pamela Weikert, a son-in-law, Richard Higinbotham, two brothers, Harold and Maurice Bream, and a sister, Myrna Schwartz.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 AM, at St. Paul's U.C.C., 20 S. Peters St, New Oxford, with Rev. Thomas Lush officiating.  Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery.  There will be no viewing, however, the family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church, or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Dr, Ste 100, Camp Hill, PA  17011, or to The Good Samaritan Fund of The Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA  17350.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
