Joyce M. (Swearman) Topper, 73, passed Friday, April 29, 2022, at Hershey Medical Center.  She was the wife of the late George T. Topper, who passed March 23, 1993 and the life partner of John C. Balek, Sr.

Joyce was born December 11, 1948, in Somerset Co., the daughter of the late Edgar and Anna (Shultz) Swearman.

Joyce attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbottstown.

In addition to her partner John, Joyce is survived by two sons, George T. Topper, Jr, and his wife Jeannie of East Berlin, and Charles W. Topper, III, and his wife Amanda of Thomasville, a daughter, Sonya A. Hamar of North Port, FL, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Swearman of Palm Springs, CA.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Edgar, Russell and Ellwood Swearman, and a grandson, Tyson H. Balek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 11 AM, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 W. Canal Rd, Abbottstown, with Rev. Philip Burger officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ziba, Zyler, Zander, Christopher, Shawn, Jhonathan, Wesley, and John.  A viewing will be held on Tuesday at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, from 6-8 PM with prayers 6 PM.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
