Joseph E. "Joe" Topper, Sr, 90, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Columbia Cottage, Hanover. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Pyles) Topper of Hanover, his wife of 70 years.

Joe was born June 20, 1932 in Hanover, the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Guise) Topper.

Joe was owner of the Park Hotel in New Oxford, a past President of Abbottstown Lions Club, a life member of the New Oxford Social and Athletic Club, and a member of Hanover Amvets.

Joe is survived by four sons, Joseph R. Topper, Jr. and his wife Barbara of New Oxford, Jeffrey A. Topper and his wife Michelle of New Oxford, Greg E. Topper of Aspers, and Michael E. Topper of Bonneville, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a sister, Louise Balek. He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. and a daughter in law.
