Joseph R. "Joe" Anderson, 84, passed Thursday, February 22, 2024 at York Health and Rehab Center. He was the husband of Ute B. (Endler) Anderson, his wife of 52 years.

Joe was born November 26, 1939 in York, the son of the late Robert and Irene (Dinges) Anderson.

Joe was always interested in aircraft, especially the P51 Mustang fighter plane. This prompted Joe to join the U.S. Air Force in 1958, where he went through ballistic missile engine training school, later to become an engine technician instructor for over four years. Once honorably discharged as an Airman1st Class, Joe returned home to York and did sales work. He became involved in various sports and entertainment pursuits, rock climbing, skiing and sports diving. He made 90 jumps and earned a "C" license, which made him an instructor and jump master. In 1969, Joe was accepted into the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Ross Leffler School of conservation to become a state game warden. He later joined the Northern York County Regional Police Department, as a police officer for twenty-five years until he retired. Joe then joined the York County Sheriff's office, serving as a deputy sheriff.  Joe was elected to a Pennsylvania State Constable's position until present.
