Obituary

John V. Scott, 76, died Saturday, April 17, 2021, at his home.  He was the husband of Dianne M. (Krichten) Scott, his wife of 53 years.

John was born December 31, 1944, in Philadelphia, the son of the late Vincent P. and Sophie R. (Caruso) Flannery.

John was a graduate of Hanover High School and Millersville University.  He taught at Park Hills Elementary School and Hoffman Home, was a former director of the Office of Elections in York County, a former Boy Scout Master of New Oxford Troop #85, and he owned Scott Family Bookstore in New Oxford for 25 years.  He collected stamps, coins, and books, and John enjoyed hiking, traveling, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Dianne, John is survived by four sons, Kevin B. Scott and his wife Carol of Arendtsville, Bryan S. Scott and his companion Sandra of New Oxford, Erik A. Scott and his wife Jessica of Glen Rock, and Marc A. Scott and his wife Jodi of Aspers, 12 grandchildren, Kelly, Dana, Cory, Brandi, Austin, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Adam, Sana, Sophia, Damion and Liam, and a great grandson, Rowan.  He was predeceased by a grandson Brandon, and a brother Robert Scott.

Funeral services will be private.  A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 6-8 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford.  Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America, New Birth of Freedom Council, 2139 White St, York, PA 17404.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
