Jean M. Ford, 94, of New Oxford, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg, PA. She was the wife of the late Clarence M. Ford, her husband of 69 years, who passed away in 2018.
Jean was born July 9 1931, in New Chester, the daughter of the late John Z. and Goldie M. Millar.
Jean was a 1949 graduate of New Oxford High School. She was a member of Great Conewago Presbyterian Church in Hunterstown for 76 years and served as president and secretary of the church's Women's Association. Over the years she taught Sunday school and bible school, was a 4H leader, member of Hunterstown Ruritan Club, President and Treasurer of Cannonaders square dance club, and a member of Judge of Elections for 15 years.
Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She had various jobs, with teachers-aid at LIU for 15 years being her last job before retiring.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Hartzel and Nancy Shull, and a son Fred Ford. Jean is also survived by two sisters, Doris Dalesio and Janet Reffner, and a brother John Millar and companion Laura Rhodes, along with her six grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Reese, and a son, Glenn Ford.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 2 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with Pastor Barry Sweitzer officiating. Burial will be in Great Conewago Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1 PM until the service begins. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hunterstown Ruritan Club, 174 Red Bridge Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325, or the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
