Jay P. "Pat" Cookerly, 73, passed Thursday, January 4, 2024, at his home. He was the companion of Vivien Cookerly.
Pat was born January 5, 1950, in Hanover the son of the late Fred and Jean (Hoover) Cookerly.
Pat served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was a lifetime member of Hampton Fire Company and East Berlin V.F.W., a member of East Berlin Fish and Game, where he had served as treasurer and president, and a member of St. John's Church, New Chester. He enjoyed watching the birds/wildlife from his porch, fishing, and hunting. Pat loved his family dearly and enjoyed caring for all of them.
In addition to his companion Vivien, Pat is survived by a son, Troy J. Cookerly of East Berlin, a daughter, Prudi L. Showers and her husband Jeff of Gardners, a grandson, Colby K. Showers of Gardners, three brothers, Thomas Cookerly of Hanover, Michael Cookerly of East Berlin, and John Cookerly of New Oxford, and two sisters, Donna Oberlander of Hanover, and Deb Quibell of GA. He was predeceased by a brother, Fred Cookerly.
