Janet S. (Shanoltz) Hast, 75, passed Sunday, May 5, 2024 at The Brethern Home Community after a long battle of cancer. She was the loving wife of Robert H. Hast of 26 years. Born January 19, 1949 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Chauncey and Martha (Blubaugh) Shanoltz. In addition to her husband Bob, Janet is survived by her son, Brian D. Sanders and his wife Jesse of Laurel, DE, and her daughter Tara Aiello and her husband Justin of Abbottstown, PA and 3 beautiful granddaughters, and a brother David Shanoltz of Mcknightstown.

Janet had many friends that she enjoyed having lunch with every month. She loved spending time with her family, playing games and weekly dinners. She also had a love for animals, traveling, car shows, vacationing to the beach (Cape May and Ocean City) and New England states. She had a passion for shopping and you could always find her at TjMAXX or a thrift store. She loved life and was a light to everyone who knew her. She had a goofy sense of humor, was always smiling and had a contagious laugh. She retired at the age of 55 from a career that she loved with PennDot for 30+ years where she made many friends.
