James S. Utley "Jim", 89, of Waynesboro, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Autumn House East in York.
Jim was born November 12, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Ross and Alyce (Easterberg) Utley.
Jim was a member of Quincy U.M. Church, Waynesboro, a graduate from Anderson H.S. class of 1945, a graduate from Purdue University, a Veteran U.S. Army WWII. a member of the Waynesboro American Legion, Waynesboro V.F.W. He was a former Quincy Twp. Supervisor, a train engineer at Red Run Park, Waynesboro, and drove a van for the AMVETS disabled veterans. Jim loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Jim is survived by two daughters; Beth Villarose of York, and Amy B. Strausbaugh and her husband Joe of New Oxford, a son, Thomas J. Utley of Lancaster, a sister, Patricia Huston of Indianapolis, IN, two grandsons; Christopher A. Strausbaugh of New Oxford, and John C. Villarose VI of Lancaster, a granddaughter, Erin B. Villarose of York, and a companion of 35 years, Maureen Wisler of Waynesboro. He was predeceased in death by a brother, Alan Utley.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 3 PM from the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 1PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: www.nationalmssociety.org.
