James W. Tracey, 89, went to be with his Lord, on Friday, December 16, 2016. He was the husband of Sonja J. (Caple) Tracey, his wife of 50 years. James was born December 19, 1926 in Hampstead, MD. He would have celebrated his 90th birthday on Monday. He was the son of the late Harry and Ethel Blanche (McCullough) Tracey. James was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Littlestown. He was employed by Black and Decker in Hampstead, MD for 18 years. James became a 50 member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America local unions191/213/431. His long career spanned several decades which included many large construction projects throughout the area, most memorably being his 25 year tenure as a millwright working at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station. James was a veteran of WWII, U.S. Army serving as an M.P. (Military Police) in the Philippines. In addition to his wife Sonja, James is survived by seven children, Sonja L. Tracey, Mark S. Tracey, Lourri L. Norris, Dean P. Norris, Steven J. Norris, Ginger L. Schwarz, Douglas J. Tracey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Bethel Assembly of God, 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown, PA 17340, or the Salvation Army, 50 E. King St., York PA 17401.
