IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James H.
Sullivan
July 10, 1955 – November 28, 2025
James H. "Wedge" Sullivan, 70, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, in New Oxford, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lois Sullivan, and is survived by his beloved wife, Diana; daughters, Annie and Maggie; and sister, Dorothy.
Born on July 10, 1955, in Birmingham, Alabama, Jim graduated from Huffman High School in 1973. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Montevallo in 1978, and completed his Master's Degree at St. Thomas University in 1980.
Wedge dedicated 41 years to Georgetown University's Athletics Department and Intramurals Program, retiring in 2021. Known for his warmth and gift for connection, he truly never met a stranger. During his tenure, he impacted generations of family legacies at Georgetown and created lifelong friendships as a GU staple. He volunteered his time with the Calvert County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and Athletic Equipment Managers Association for many years. His kindness, humor, and easy way with people left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. If you knew him, you loved him.
Wedge found joy in every game and shared that passion generously through an extraordinary sports collection. He was a history buff who was always looking for the next "junkin" adventure or historical battlefield to explore. Above all, he was a devoted husband and the biggest fan his daughters could ever ask for – steadfast, proud, and endlessly supportive. Even as he faced the challenges of Parkinson's disease, he did so with grace, courage, and an enduring gentle spirit.
Wedge's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
A memorial service honoring his life will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in his name.
