Obituary

James L. Kane, 77, passed Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his home. He was the husband of Linda A. (Rabine) Kane, his wife of 58 years.

Jim was born January 14, 1949, in Gettysburg, the son of the late Guy F. and Kathleen L. (Keckler) Kane.

Jim was a 1966 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, a life member of New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, and New Oxford Fire Company, and he served in the National Guard out of Gettysburg. He coached New Oxford Little League Baseball and was a devoted family man.

In addition to his wife Linda, Jim is survived by a daughter, Christine E. Trimmer and her husband PJ of New Oxford, two sons, James A. Kane and his wife Annmarie of Reading, and David L. Kane and his wife Raina of York, six grandchildren, Katrina Gilliland, Elizabeth Merani, Curtis Kane, Joseph Kane, Zoe Kane and Ryan Kane, five great grandchildren, and a brother, Charles Dale Kane of Massanutten, VA.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Keith Carroll officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray costs. Feiser Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.
