James C. "Jim" Higinbotham, III, 86, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at his residence.  He was the husband of Mary Jo (Winkler) Higinbotham, his wife of 38 years.

Jim was born October 21, 1932, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late James C. and Harriet (VanDyke) Higinbotham, Jr.

In addition to his wife Mary Jo, Jim is survived by his children, Leigh Vizzier of San Diego, CA, Bruce Higinbotham of Pasadena, MD, Heather Glemza of Baltimore, MD, and Christina Higinbotham of New Oxford, two grandchildren, and a sister, Virginia Spangler Hirsh of Pittsburgh.  He was predeceased by a son, Michael Higinbotham.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 11 AM, at Immanuel Episcopal Church, 1509 Glencoe Rd, Glencoe, MD, with Rev. Megan E. Stewart-Sicking officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to VNA/Hospice, 440 N.
