James R. "Jim" Blankenship, 94, passed Monday, October 28, 2024, at Ashleigh at Lansdowne in Leesburg, VA.  He was the husband of the late Minnie L. (Hobson) Blankenship, who passed March 31, 2020.

Jim was born April 25, 1930, in Jeffersonville, IN, the son of the late Wallace P. and Dolly L. (Oakes) Blankenship.

Jim was a retired Colonel from the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of Emory U.M. Church in New Oxford.

Jim is survived by a son, Steven L. Blankenship, a daughter, Debra S. VanDerveer, two grandchildren, Matthew and Erica, and four great grandchildren, Logan, Liam, Callum and Levi.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11 AM, at New Oxford Cemetery, 4971 York Rd, New Oxford, with Pastor Barry Sweitzer officiating.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
