Obituary

J. Max Overbaugh, 84, of New Oxford, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at his residence.  He was the husband of Jean T. (Rider) Overbaugh, his wife of 62 years.

Max was born August 1, 1933, in New Oxford, the son of the late Norman A. and Marguerite E. (Weaver) Overbaugh.

Max was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, and a 1951 graduate of Delone High School.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, retried from Oxford Container after 43 years of service, and was a member of the American Legion in Hanover

In addition to his wife Jean, Max is survived by three daughters, Lu Ann Eichelberger and her husband Gerald of York, Shawn M. Overbaugh of Hanover, and Tracy L. Schaszberger of McSherrystown, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, with Rev. Michael Letteer officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
