Herbert L. Wherley, 79, died Monday, April 9, 2018, at The Gardens at Gettysburg.  He was the husband of Sarah G. (Bolin) Wherley, his wife of 57 years.

Herbert was born January 9, 1939, in Hanover, the son of the late Allen R. Wherley and the late Ethel M. (Weikert) Brockway.

In addition to his wife Sarah, Herbert is survived by a daughter, Kathy M. Sanders and her husband Kenneth of New Oxford, 3 grandchildren, Justin Sanders, Janelle Sanders and Joanna Sanders, four brothers, William, James, John and Donald Wherley, and four sisters, Helen Bollinger, Linda Wherley, Nancy Plunkert and Shirley Werner.  He was predeceased by five brothers, Robert, Richard, Fred, David and Ray Wherley, and three sisters, Ruth Yohe, Dorothy Wherley and Evelyn Workman.
