Helen L. Leer

Helen L. (Witter) Leer, 94, died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at The Brethren Home Community. She was the wife of Robert E. Leer, who died November 3, 2003.
Helen was born June 30, 1922 in Mercersburg, the daughter of the late Alvin and Molly (Hege) Witter.
Helen was a member of the Upper Conewago Church of The Brethren, where she was a ladies aid. She was an active volunteer at the Brethren Home Community and Heidlersburg Fire Company, and she worked in home healthcare for many years.
Helen is survived by four sons, Leroy Leer of Wolford, N.D., Harold Leer of Smithsburg, Md., and Marlin Leer and Kevin Leer, both of Aspers; two daughters, Naomi Rohrer of Harrisburg, and Esther Baldwin of Union Bridge, Md., 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald E. Leer; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly-Anne Meacham.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016, at 11 a.m., at the Upper Conewago Church of The Brethren, 391 Mummert's Church Rd, Abbottstown, with Ministers Allen Nell and Dan Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery A viewing will be held on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford.
