Helen D. (Steinwachs) Barkby, 94, passed Sunday, August 3, 2025, at SpiriTrust Lutheran Gettysburg.  She was the wife of the late Fred G. Barkby who passed April 27, 2007.

Helen was born September 12, 1930, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur O. and Grace A. (Pfeffer) Steinwachs.

Helen was a member of Paradise "Holtzschwamm" Lutheran Church in Thomasville.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Byers and her husband Lee of East Berlin, a granddaughter, Brianna G. Fletcher and her husband Cody of East Berlin, a grandson, Brayden L. Byers and his girlfriend Haley Dull of East Berlin, two great grandsons; Brody Q. Fletcher and Asher G. Laughman, and a great granddaughter, Bailey Q. Fletcher.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 12 PM, at Paradise "Holtzschwamm" Lutheran Church, 3241 Church Rd, Thomasville, with Rev.
