Gloria Gates Cooksey, 86, died Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, at Cross Keys Village in New Oxford, PA. She was the wife of the late David L. Cooksey, her husband of 61 years.

Gloria was born June 11, 1939 in Washington D.C., the daughter of Russell S. and Elizabeth (Richardson) Gates.

Gloria graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a degree in Education. She loved gardening, knitting, quilting, and spending time with her family. Gloria and Dave built a beautiful home in Montana and spent eight years there, exploring the West.

Gloria is survived by her children, Patricia Willis (Scott), David "Ted" Cooksey (Theresa), and Susan Shannon (Brian). She was "Mimi" to eight grandchildren, Jordan, Shannon, Jonathan, Alex, Matt, Lauren, Daniel and Michael, and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Feiser Funeral Home of East Berlin is in charge of arrangements.
