Dr. Glenn E. Ford, 75, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg.
Glenn was born June 30, 1949, in Hanover, the son of the late Clarence M. Ford and Jean (Miller) Ford.
Glenn was a life member of Great Conewago Presbyterian Church in Hunterstown. He was a 1967 graduate of Gettysburg High School and graduated with honors from Shippensburg University in 1970 with degrees in Spanish and English. He received his masters degree in English from the same institution in 1972. He had taken subsequent graduate work toward reading specialist/supervisor and administrative certifications at Shippensburg University, Western Maryland College, Millersville University, Villanova University, University of Pennsylvania and Western Virginia University.
He taught English and worked as a reading specialist at New Oxford High School.
Glenn is survived by his brother, Fred Ford of Jonesboro, TN, his sisters, Nancy Shull of Arendtsvile, and Shirley Hartzel of Biglerville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Reese.
There will be no public services however a memorial service will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family.
