Gerald E. Mickey

Gerald E. Mickey, 74, died Friday, November 4, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Linda M. (Blatt) Mickey, his wife of 50 years.
Gerald was born December 15, 1941, in Jonestown, the son of the late Frank E. and Carrie (Schriver) Mickey
Gerald was a member of New Life Assembly of God in East Berlin, a graduate of the University of North Texas, and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Six Flags over Texas as a musician, traveled with and played on the Johnny Carson Show with the Clyde McCoy Band, and enjoyed performing comedy and magic shows for 32 years. He retired in 2001 from the Bermudian Springs School District as the elementary school band director after 32 years of service, performed magic shows at the National Apple Harvest Festival for 28 years, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
In addition to his wife Linda, Gerald is survived by two daughters, Andrea R. Holtzinger and her husband, Brian of Blue Bell, and Renee E. Burgard and her husband, Gary of East Berlin, five grandchildren, Lauren Holtzinger, Landen Burgard, Lindsey Burgard, Michael Holtzinger, and Olivia Holtzinger; and a sister, Ruth Winklebleck of Annville. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert F. Mickey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11 a.m., at New Life Assembly of God, 2136 Baltimore Pike, East Berlin, with Pastor Joel Everhart officiating. Burial will be in East Berlin Union Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Holtzinger, Gary Burgard, Landen Burgard, Michael Holtzinger, Michael Maysilles, and Michael Shreck. Viewings will be held on Sunday at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
