"Bunny" Brumgard
November 21, 1938 – August 31, 2017
Gerald L. "Bunny" Brumgard, of Gettysburg, passed away from us, at Gettysburg Hospital, on Thursday, August 31, 2017, to be with his parents Earl and Roberta, his two brothers, Merle and Burnell "Buzz", and his son Kendall.
Born November 21, 1938 in Carroll Co., MD, he leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Rose (Whited) Brumgard, sons Chris and his companion Mandy, and Aaron, three grandchildren, Cody, Carlee and Austin Brumgard, a brother, Clyde "Tate" Brumgard, two sisters, Jean "Doll" Lapinsky and Brenda Maitland, and many extended family members.
After graduating from Littlestown High School in 1957, he served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1957 until 1961, with three of those years being in Germany. He was a life member of the V.F.W., and Salem Guldens U.M. Church. He was an avid deer hunter in his younger days, and loved to take care of his lawn and garden, as well as being an expert truck driver for many years until he had to reluctantly retire in 2007 because of health problems.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 11 AM at Salem Guldens U.M. Church, 224 Low Dutch Rd, Gettysburg, with Rev. William Ingram officiating. Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
