Ethel (Myers) Swope, 95, of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 25th, 2025. Born July 9, 1930 in East Berlin, PA, to Carrie and Melvin Myers, Ethel devoted her life to her family and, together with her husband of 77 years, Earl Swope, lovingly raised four children.

Ethel did not pursue a career outside the home; instead, she poured her energy into caring for her home and family. She met each day with quiet grace—rarely a complaint—and was known for her unfailing gentle kindness. Her greatest joy was time spent with her husband, growing family, and her home was a place of steadiness, warmth, and welcome.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; her children, Darlene Zinn, Robert Swope, Deb Fishel, and Denise Carter; her sister, Maryann Douglass; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three sisters: Romain, Dorothy, and Loretta and great-great-granddaughter Caroline Beaverson.

A celebration of Ethel's life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 E.
