Elwood V. Pyles, 95, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Transitions Healthcare.  He was the husband of the late Relda E. (Miller) Pyles, who died December 5, 2017.

Elwood was born November 24, 1923, in Romney, WV, the son of the late Raymond and Bertha Pyles.

Elwood served in the U.S. Army, was an avid fisherman, and was a member of First Lutheran Church in New Oxford, the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, the AMVETS, the Eagles in Gettysburg, and the Gettysburg Moose.

Elwood is survived by two sons, Vernon E. Pyles and his wife Donna, and Jhan R. Pyles, all of New Oxford, five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Virginia Myers of Hanover, and Ruth Topper of New Oxford.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018, at 1 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with Rev. Elizabeth D. George officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Abbottstown.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12 PM until the time of the service.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
