Obituary

Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Gable) Brothers, 93, of McSherrystown, passed Friday, October 20, 2023, peacefully at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles R. "Robert" Brothers, her husband of 51 years.

Betty was born October 18, 1930, in New Oxford, the daughter of the late Raymond S. and Mary May (Baugher) Gable.

Betty was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. Church in New Oxford, where she was their organist for many years.

Surviving two brothers, Fred L. Gable of New oxford, and Larry E. Gable of Littlestown, several nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Emma Jane Hoffheins, Dorothy M. Higinbotham, and Nancy L. Aldridge, five brothers, William, R. Elton, Leon, Nelson, and Harold Gable.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11 AM, at St. Paul's U.C.C, 20 S. Peters St. New Oxford, with Chaplain Dan Summers officiating. Burial will be at 2 PM in New Oxford Cemetery. There will be no viewing.  Memorial contributions may be made to, St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Paul's U.C.C., 20 S. Peters St, New Oxford, PA 17350.
