IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine
Stremmel
August 10, 1944 – April 29, 2025
Elaine (Jones) Stremmel, 80, passed Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital. She was the wife of the late Nevin H. Stremmel, her husband of 52 years, who passed August 20, 2019.
Elaine was born August 10, 1944, in Houtzdale, the daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Gladys M. (Beck) Jones.
Elaine was proudly employed by Acme Distribution Company in her early adult years, and was self employed cleaning homes while raising her family, and finally worked for AMP Inc. She retired early to take care of her husband and help with raising grandchildren. She enjoyed country rides with Nevin, sitting on the porch watching the farm animals, visiting with her brothers and sisters, and celebrating holidays with her family. She had a passion for reading, writing and music. One of her fondest memories was her trip to Canada with her sisters and family to touch the Hudson Bay. In her final years, she was at peace with God and waited for the comfort of her husband's loving arms.
Elaine is survived by her children, Julie R. Costella and her husband Mike, and Daniel S. Stremmel and his wife Melaney, all of New Oxford, and Aldona M. Peart and her husband Jarret of Cabot, six grandchildren, Hunter, Rachel, Trent, Laura, Anna and Nevin, and a sister, Aldona Burkholder of FL. She was predeceased by three brothers, George Jones, Ben Jones and Bruce Jones, and three sisters, Marie Beecher, Doris Beck and Naomi Dunlap
