Obituary

Ed (Edgar M.) and Patsy I. "Pat" (Lieb) Knepper, Sr, Graveside services will be held on Monday. June 19, 2023, at 11 AM, at Mummert's Church Cemetery, Abbottstown, with the Rev. Dr. Lawrence Stratton officiating.  Ed passed away at his home in Florida on November 9, 2022, and Pat passed away in Kissimmee Fl, on March 27, 2019. Ed was a 1952 graduate and Pat a 1951 graduate of New Oxford High School. Ed and Pat were married on July 25, 1953, and enjoyed that marriage together for over 65 years.  During the Korean War, Ed served in the U.S Army Security Agency as a Morse Code interceptor in Kyoto, Japan, from 1953 to 1955. Pat flew to Japan, from the States, to be reunited with Ed. In August, they both returned from Japan to the States, where their first son, Marty was born. Ed was a 1959 graduate from West Chester State Teachers College with a B.S degree, and a Master's degree in 1964 in Physical Education.  Pat was a 1970 graduate from University of Delaware also in Physical Education.  The couple owned and operated the Olympiad Gymnastic Schools, Inc, from 1967 until 2011, and World of Gymnastics summer camps in DE, NJ, VA, and FL. Gymnastics would give them the opportunity to travel the world together, including the 1972 Munich Olympics, the 1976 Montreal Olympics, 1984 China Tour, the 1994 Goodwill games in St. Petersburg, Russia, as well as Australia, Tahiti, Austria, France, Italy and Israel.  Ed and Pat were members of the Brandywine Country Club for many years, where they enjoyed Golf and Tennis before moving to Florida full time. Ed and pat are survived by their sons, E. Martin Knepper and his wife Barbara Stratton, and Jeffrey M. Knepper and his wife Patty, three granddaughters, Alexandra, Emily, and Sophie Knepper.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.
