Dorthey L. (Dayhoff) Jacobs, 88, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at The Brethren Home Community. She was the wife of the late Adam W. Jacobs, who died April 9, 1993.
Dorthey was born February 13, 1929, in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Jennie M. (Sowers) Dayhoff.
Dorthey was a member of Emmanuel U.C.C. in Abbottstown, and the Abbottstown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
Dorthey is survived by two daughters, Caroline I. Duncan and her husband Henry of Abbottstown, and Phyllis L. Ferrer and her husband Hector of Hanover, a son, Charles E. Jacobs of Abbottstown, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister, Freda Hulton of Gettysburg. She was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Harold and Richard Dayhoff, and three sisters, Naomi Redding, Romona White and Nancy Clapp.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 11 AM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with her pastor, Rev. Barb Brenneman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg. A viewing will be held on the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
