Doris Elizabeth Bucks Morgan

Doris Elizabeth Bucks Morgan, who celebrated her 100th birthday last spring, passed away peacefully at Cross Keys Village, New Oxford, PA on December 20. She was born to Frank and Elizabeth Bucks on May 8, 1916 in West Orange, New Jersey and was predeceased by her parents and her brother and sister, Frank, Jr. and Ruth. Married in 1939 to John (Jack) Carroll Morgan, Doris was the mother of Patricia Green, Kirkville, NY and Carroll Davenport, Hanover, PA. Jack passed away in 1978. After marrying, Doris lived in Chester, New Jersey, for 40 years; in Orient, New York for 32 years; and at Cross Keys Village for 5 years. She was an active member of every community in which she lived and an accomplished crafter of ceramics, weaving, quilting, caning and beeswax candles.

Surviving, in addition to her daughters, are 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren: Payton, John, Daizy, Piper, Dallas and Madison Green.

A memorial service will be held at Nicarry Hall of Cross Keys Village, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA, at 10 a.m. on January 4. On April 29. Doris will be interred in the Orient Community Cemetery, next to her beloved Jack, following a service at the Orient Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Orient Historical Society for preservation of the Methodist Church or to the Cross Keys Village Foundation.

Doris lived a full life; was always active and interested in helping others; and was a delight and inspiration to all who knew her. Her greatest delight was hosting and entertaining friends and family.
