Donna Rae Phelan, born in Gettysburg PA on August 31, 1951 peacefully passed on September 22, 2017.  Daughter of Martin L. Myers and Grace E. Myers of Gettysburg; Granddaughter of Rev. Dr. Harold Myers and Rev. Eliza Myers, Founders and first pastors of Gettysburg Foursquare Gospel Church.

Donna graduated from Gettysburg High School in June 1969 and went on to graduate as a Registered Nurse from Church Home and Hospital School in Baltimore MD, now known as Johns Hopkins Nursing School.

While at Nursing School Donna met her husband, Geoffrey Louis Phelan, a family general physician who studied at Johns Hopkins. After graduation, they pioneered their way West and settled in Southern California, raising five children.

Donna's greatest pride and joy was the love and care she held for her family. Her heart of service and legacy of caring and loving others continues through her five children: Matthew Phelan, husband to Shannon, father to two children, Charlotte and Everette, and a Middle School History Teacher and High School Football Coach; Elisha Phelan, doting sister and aunt, a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner; Elizabeth Phelan, mother of Annabella Luz and wife to U.S. Navy Corpsman, Chris Dorsey; Aimee Phelan, kind sister and silly aunt, Public Servant for the U.S. Department of Commerce; Geoffrey Charles Phelan, husband to Breanne and father of Rozalyn Everleigh, and a Federal Forest Service Fire Fighter.

Donna worked alongside her husband in their primary care practice for 35 years. She wore many hats as the Office Manager, Master Biller as well as Head Nurse and Patient Greeter. Donna loved to cook for seven, you could often find her singing the Lord's praises and studying the Bible. It is fitting that she passed while being surrounded by her beloved family including her husband of 42 years, five children, her brother and one of her sisters. She passed to the gentle singing of the Lord's praises with a sprig of lavender on her bedside.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Christ Chapel Foursquare Gospel Church, 225 New Chester Rd., Gettysburg, PA, with Dr. Michael R. Myers officiating. There will be no viewing.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, and Friday, 1PM until the time of the service at the church.
