Dolores M. (Staub) Smith, 94, passed Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. She was the wife of the late William F. Smith, her husband of 48 years, who passed June 21, 2001.
Dolores was born August 25, 1930, in Adams Co., the daughter of the late John R. and Blanche (Yingling) Staub.
Dolores was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, where she was also a member of the Rosary Confraternity. She was employed at George's Five & Ten in New Oxford, Snyders of Hanover, and retired from Martin's Potato Chip in Thomasville. Dolores loved to travel, play cards, bingo, going to casinos, and especially spending time her family and friends.
Dolores is survived by six sons; Linus J. Smith and his wife Julie of Palm Coast, FL, Lee A. Smith and his wife Cindy of Hanover, Larry F. Smith and his wife Pat of Hanover, Leonard A. Smith and his companion Donna of New Oxford, Laurin M. Smith and his wife Deb of Adamstown, and Louis W. Smith and his wife Lisa of Hanover, three daughters; Lorraine M. Rife and her husband Scott of New Oxford, Loretta A. White and her husband Jeff of Hanover, and Louise M. Smith of New Oxford, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a brother, James R. Staub of New Oxford. She was predeceased by five brothers; Donald, Randolph, John, Joseph and Leonard Staub, and a sister, Mary Louise Orndorff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Keith Carroll officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her 8 grandsons. A viewing will be held on Monday, from 6-8 PM, at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with prayers at 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
