David Arthur Stark, 73, passed into his “next great adventure” 17 January 2026.

David served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1986, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His government service with the National Security Agency was from 1987 to 2019 when he retired.

A life-long Scouter, he obtained the rank of Life Scout, Scout Master of Troop 111, Advisor of Crew 42, and Order of the Arrow Vigil honor.

David is survived by his wife Candice, his children Robert and Natasha as well as his grandchildren.

David was a life member of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), National Association of Amateur Radio (AARL), USA Archery as an instructor, National Rifle Association as an instructor, and a multitude of conservancy groups, and he was a member of Lower Bermudian Lutheran Church as the council president.

A service to celebrate David’s life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 2 PM, at Lower Bermudian Lutheran Church, 2409 Lake Meade Rd, East Berlin, with Rev. Linda Shipman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Chestnut Foundation, 50 N.
