David R. Smith, 53, passed Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his home.

Dave was born December 14, 1971, in Baltimore, MD, the son of Robert D. and Joyce M. (Walton) Smith of New Oxford.

Dave was a 1989 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, was a member of New Oxford Social & Athletic Club and McSherrystown Home Association, and was an avid sprint car fan.

In addition to his parents, Dave is survived by a sister-in-law, Rebecca Smith of Hanover, a niece, Kourtney L. Kauffmann of Myrtle Beach, SC, a great nephew, Grayson L. Kauffmann, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony M. "Tony" Smith.
