David M. Prophet, 82, passed Saturday, June 1, 2024, at The Brethren Home Community.  He was the husband of Barbara M. (Faris) Prophet, his wife of 60 years.

David was born October 10, 1941, in Palmer, MA, the son of the late Alta E. and Helen G. (Sullivan) Prophet.

David served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford.  He earned his B.S. in engineering at Merrimack College in N. Andover, MA, his Master's degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and his PHD from Temple University in Philadelphia.  Following his engineering career, he taught at Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD.  David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and had a tremendous love for his family.

In addition to his wife Barbara, David is survived by three sons, Michael P. Prophet of Cedar Falls, IA, Matthew D. Prophet and his wife Monica of Ballston Spa, NY, and William D. Prophet and his wife Takako of Scottsdale, AZ, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a brother, John Prophet of Woodbury, CT, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Griesing.
