Daniel G. Lehigh, 74, died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Miller) Lehigh, his wife of over 49 years, married November 12, 1966. Daniel was born August 8, 1941, in York, the son of the late David W. and Florence R. (Lucabaugh) Lehigh.
Daniel was an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren, and Elder at the Upper Conewago Church of the Brethren, a graduate from Hanover High school, class of 1959, and a graduate of the Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia, with a Registered X-ray Technologist degree. Daniel held various supervisory roles with the Duplex Products, Inc. in Emigsville, Kingston, N.Y., and Dillsburg for over 28 years. Daniel was a Director of "Men's Ministries" at the Adams Rescue Mission in Gettysburg for 8 years and a Chaplain of "Carlisle Truck Stop Ministry, Inc." Carlisle for 13 years. Daniel was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and teaching, preaching and evangelism.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Daniel is survived by two sons, David A. Lehigh and his wife, Linda of Mechanicsburg and Mark D. Lehigh of East Berlin; three grandchildren, Joshua D. Lehigh, Christopher A. Lehigh and Katelyn L. Lehigh, all of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Dr. John M. Lehigh and his wife, Donna of Union Bridge, Md. and John R. Lehigh and his wife, Susan of Hanover. He was predeceased by two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Upper Conewago Church of the Brethren, 391 Mummerts Church Rd., Abbottstown, with Elder Allen Nell and Elder Daniel Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mummerts Cemetery at the church. A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may also be made to Carlisle Truck Stop Ministries, P.O.B. 851, Carlisle, PA. 17013-0851.The Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford is in charge of the arrangements.
