Charles J. "Sparky" Wire, 87, died Friday, May 6, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Irene A. (Lobaugh) Wire, his wife of 60 years, who died May 26, 2010.
Charles was born June 11, 1928 in York, the son of the late Charles E. and Lottie A. (Oberdier) Wire.
Charles loved the Lord, his family, and trains, was a member of the Hanover Seventh Day Adventist Church, and served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years.
Charles is survived by two sons, Fred C. Wire and his wife, Colleen of Highland, Md., and David F. Wire and his wife, Judy of Dover; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Emig of Texas; and two brothers, Leon Wire of Spring Grove, and Harold "Jake" Wire of York.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hanover Seventh Day Adventist Church, 865 Gitts Run Rd, Hanover, with Pastor Bryan Laue officiating.
