Charles M. Eisenhart, 83, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Dottie Mae (Resser) Eisenhart, his wife of 66 years.
Charlie was born December 29, 1932 in York, the son of the late William L. and Dorothy M. (Krone) Eisenhart.
Charlie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in East Berlin, where he was a past president of church council, and served in the U.S. Army. He retired as Post Master from the East Berlin Post Office, served as secretary for the East Berlin Lions Club for more than 25 years, and served on East Berlin Boro Council, East Berlin Planning Commission, and the East Berlin Water and Sewer Authority. He also was involved in Boy Scouts, Little League Baseball, the East Berlin Baseball Association, where he was a past president, and he delivered meals on wheels.
In addition to his wife, Dottie Mae, Charlie is survived by 2 sons, Jeffrey L. Eisenhart and his wife, Pamela of East Berlin, and Gerald E. Eisenhart and his wife, Tina of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Stephanie Raubenstein, Ryan Eisenhart, Lyndsey Haubrich, and Brandon Eisenhart; a great- granddaughter, Carly Eisenhart; a sister, Joyce Eichelberger of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William Eisenhart, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 117 W. King St, East Berlin, with his pastor, the Rev. George Scott officiating. Burial will be in East Berlin Union Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Eisenhart, Brandon Eisenhart, Tim Raubenstein, Mike Cookerly, Jack Hinkle and Charlie Hoffman. There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.
