Charles W. Anderson, 82, of Biglerville, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Leonard W. and Eva Mae (Buttrey) Anderson.
Charles was a devoted husband of Martha (Smith) Anderson, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Their life together was filled with love, family, laughter, and countless memories.

He is survived by three children, Eric Anderson and his wife Sharon of Biglerville, Jill Hobbs of Biglerville, and Kelly Naylor and her husband Tim of East Berlin. He was the proud grandfather to Sarah Anderson, Amanda Moser, Jeremy Anderson, Joshua Hobbs, Brooklyn Naylor, and Lindsey Naylor; blessed also with four great-grandchildren, Charleton, Mackenzie, Morgan, and baby Karleigh, who is expected to make her appearance in just two weeks. He is also survived by sister, Dottie Groft and her husband Tim of Gettysburg, and many loving nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his grandson, Wesley; sisters, Julia Myers, Pauline Little, Grace Mastrouni, Naomi Smith, and Fern Nowak-Lattanzio; brother Earl Anderson.

Charlie loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed sitting in his garage, listening to music, and sharing a good laugh. He was a top-notch joke teller, and his quick wit and sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to everyone around him. His family will forever cherish the memories, stories, laughter, and love he gave them and will miss him more than words can express.

He was a member of the New Oxford Social Club and the Gettysburg VFW. He worked at Emeco Industries for 30 years before continuing his career as a truck driver with Ag Com, where he worked for 21 years. He retired in 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed retirement, especially being able to sleep in.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, nieces, and nephews, extended family, and many friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Charlie’s life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help in the fight against childhood disease that takes so many lives.
Though he is no longer here to tell one of his famous jokes, his laughter, love, and memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
