Carlton L. "Cot" Jacobs, 98, died Friday, September 23, 2016. He was the husband of the late Ethel R. (Spahr) Jacobs, who died August 1, 1977, and the late Dorothy M. (Hockenberry) Herman Jacobs, who died May 1, 2010.
Cot was born August 7, 1918, in York County, the son of the late Raymond and Mabel (Gise) Jacobs.
Cot was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in East Berlin and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He served on the board of directors at Peoples State Bank, where he also served as president, bought and sold cattle for 70 years, clerked at public sales for 65 years, and sheared sheep for neighbors. He was a member of the East Berlin Lions Club, Hebron Lodge #465, New Oxford, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars, York, York Co. Shriner's Club, East Berlin Fire Co., and the East Berlin V.F.W.
Cot is survived by a son, Barry L. Jacobs and his wife Mary of East Berlin; a granddaughter, Renee Anthony of East Berlin; and three great-grandchildren, Dalton, Brea and Myles Anthony, all of East Berlin. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Jacobs, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 117 W. King St, East Berlin, with his Pastor, Rev. George Scott, officiating. Burial will be in East Berlin Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St., East Berlin.
