Burnell C. Plank, 88, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at The Brethren Home Community. He was the husband of Rosella M. Plank, his wife of 68 years.
Burnell was born August 31, 1935 in New Chester, the son of the late Elmer C. and Frances I. (Matthews) Plank.
Burnell was an avid hunter who still holds the 2014 PA State record for the largest cow Elk ever taken. He was the last of the original members of the "Lucky 10" deer camp. Burnell enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. Burnell enjoyed his life, family and friends.
In addition to his wife Rosella, Burnell is survived by three daughters, Brenda Linebaugh of New Oxford, Bonnie Allen and her husband Keith of Palestine, VA, and Beverly L. Enright of Mt. Jackson, VA, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, one brother, Harold W. Plank of New Oxford, one sister Rose Marie Revell of West Virginia and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Eugene Plank, and two sisters, Ruthetta Wildasin and Jean Bolen.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11 AM, at Emmanuel U.C.C., 1 Center Square, Abbottstown, with Rev. Barbara Brenneman. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church Friday from 9 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel U.C.C., 1 Center Square, P.O. Box 356, Abbottstown, PA 17301 or VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison St., Hanover, PA. 17331. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
