Beverly A. Smith, 86, passed Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at The Brethren Home Community.  She was the wife of the late Merle L. Smith, her husband of 61 years, who passed April 15, 2022.

Bev was born in Hanover on August 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Raphael H. and Elizabeth M. (Lingg) Smith,

Bev was a 1957 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and a 1959 graduate of Mt, Aloysius Junior College in Cresson PA, where she was president of the Zeta Delta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a National Honor Society.  She was also president of the college sorority, Omega Sigma Chi.  She worked for 46 years as a medical secretary, retiring in 2005 from Hanover Surgical Associates.  Bev was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford where she volunteered in many capacities with the church and school, and was honored with the Distinguished Graduate Award.  She was a board member of the New Oxford Area Historical Society, treasurer of the Rosary Confraternity of Immaculate Conception Church, treasurer for Conewago Valley AARP, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Cross Keys Village.  She enjoyed decorating her home for every season, and having "Daycare" for her grand puppies.

Bev is survived by a daughter, Amy L. Smith and her companion Rusty Hess of Hanover, a son, David M. Smith and his wife Erin of Bowling Green, KY, three grandchildren; Kaden, Elizabeth and Gracie, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by three half-sisters; Harriet Smaine, Leah Sieg and Mary Frances Gardner, and a half-brother, Richard U. Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Keith Carroll officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with the Rosary at 8 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or to Delone Catholic High School 140 S.
