Obituary

Avery G. "Joe" Mabe, 76, passed peacefully Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Mary "Jackie" (Trenner) Mabe, his wife of 45 years.

Joe was born May 23, 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son of the late Sarah P. Johnson.

Joe served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Life Discovery Church, McSherrystown, and enjoyed spending time with and helping the men of Madison House West, in York. Joe loved to travel, and enjoyed NASCAR racing, cooking, horses and his dog Dixie.

In addition to his wife Jackie, Joe is survived by three daughters, Hope Miller and her companion Francis Matthews of Spring Grove, Dani Kushla and her husband Mike of Wellsville and Wendy Myers and her husband Erik of MD, a sister, Dorothy Houselander and her husband Barry of GA, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. He was predeceased by a son, Raymond P. Traylor, II, a daughter, Marybeth Wratchford, a grandson, Levi V. Gladfelter and a sister, Ann and her husband Rooney.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 5 PM, at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St., East Berlin, with Pastor Gerry Stolzfoos officiating. Burial will be private. Military Rites will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard, at 3:00 PM on Saturday, at the funeral home. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, from 3 PM until the time of service. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
