Arton D. "Art" Hamme, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of Sharon A. (Wallen) Hamme, his wife of 53 years.

Art was born, March 25, 1950 in Hanover, the son of the late Leander G. and Mildred A. (Laughman) Hamme.

Art attended the Hanover First Church of God in Hanover. Art was employed with Caraustar Industries in York for over 35 years, retiring in 2016. Art was a member of AARP, enjoyed restoring cars, attending races at Lincoln Speedway, traveling and exploring new destinations.

In addition to his wife, Sharon, Art is survived by three daughters, Tawney B. Gallagher and her companion Darwyn Benedict of Waynesboro, Jeena A. Hake and her husband Jesse of York, and Jenae A. Hamme of Abbottstown, and a brother Staffin Hamme of Shiloh.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10 AM, at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, with Pastor Dan Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, 2243 Hunterstown-Hampton Rd, New Oxford. There will be no viewing. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN, 38105.
