She volunteered for the York Literacy Council teaching English as a Second Language and helping a nurse from China gain proficient language skills to pass the nurse credential exam. She volunteered in many church activities, was a supportive friend to many neighbors, and was dedicated to weekly Bible study and worship.
Ada loved to read, garden, and travel, especially to visit family. She was an avid sports fan and a wonderful baker of pies. Her sour cherry pie, applesauce and strawberry jam were legendary too.
Friends, neighbors and family are invited to celebrate Ada's faith in the Gospel at a funeral service held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 201 S Baltimore Street, Dillsburg PA, 17019, on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 2 p.m. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones and serve Ada's favorite – Hershey's Ice Cream.
