Wayne R. Wolf

Wayne R. Wolf, 81, of York Springs, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Gibbs) Wolf, who died September 2, 2002.

Wayne was born June 7, 1936 in York Springs, the son of the late Millard A. and Dorothy G. (Griest) Wolfe.

Wayne attended York Springs High School, and served in the U.S. Army for 4 years with the 101st. Airborne Division. He was self-employed as a truck driver for many years, and belonged to many civic organizations. Wayne was a member of the East Berlin VFW and a former member of the Sulphur Springs VFW, a member of the Eagles, the American Legion, Life Member of York Springs Fire Co., and the Morning Hour Chapel of East Berlin.

Wayne is survived by a son, Mark E. Wolf of York Springs, a daughter, April E. Lawrence and her husband Brian J., of East Berlin, four brothers; Ronald Wolfe of Carlisle, Carl Wolfe of East Berlin, Colin Wolfe of Rossville and Keith Wolfe of Ohio, three sisters; Dawn Schott of East Berlin, Joy Lenig of McSherrystown and Karen Brodbeck of York. He was predeceased by a son, Stephen W. Harman, three brothers; Philip Wolfe, Allan Wolfe and Robert Wolfe, one sister, Ruth Spangler

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10 AM from the Morning Hour Chapel, 491 Germany Rd., East Berlin, with Rev. Renee E. Durbin and Rev. Keith Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet U.C.C. Cemetery (Twin Churches Rd.) East Berlin, with Military Honors by the V.F.W. of East Berlin.  A visitation will be held at the Church on Friday from 9 AM until the time of the service.
