Robert G. Kime, 89, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford, PA.
Bob was born in Gettysburg, PA, the son of the late Lester E. and Esther E. (Fair) Kime.
Bob is survived by a daughter, Peggy Kime Hazzard and her husband Tom Hazzard of Harrisburg, PA, his grandson, Matthew T. Hazzard of Harrisburg, two sisters, Janet Deatrick of New Oxford, and Ruth Hearlson of Palisade, CO, and nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Anna M. Kime, his daughter, Jeanette R. “Jean” Kime, and his brother, James E. Kime.
Bob retired from the former Doubleday and Co., Inc, having worked in Hanover, PA, Middletown, PA, and Orange, VA over the course of his career. He was a 1947 graduate of New Oxford High School, where he earned the FFA Keystone Farmer Degree. As a young man he operated a part-time in home business near Hanover, Bob’s TV and Radio Repair. In retirement, he became a paramedic with the Orange County Rescue Squad, and took flying lessons and earned his private pilot’s license. He enjoyed boating, hunting, gardening, playing cards, carp fishing at Lake Marburg, and competing in billiards tournaments at Cross Keys Village.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 11 AM, at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with Rev. Hobart C. Utter, Jr officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 10 AM until the time of the service.
